Yield
1000 g
Recommended when
  • There is active brood or a properly planned development objective.
  • The availability and diversity of natural pollen are insufficient.
  • The colony has a functional queen, enough population, enough energy, and suitable thermal conditions to sustain brood rearing.
Avoid when
  • Existe entrada abundante e diversificada de pólen.
  • A colónia está demasiado fraca, doente ou sem condições para criar.
  • Não é possível acompanhar o consumo e remover sobras degradadas.
Ingredients
  • g Inactive brewer's yeast powder suitable for feed use
  • g White powdered sugar, without starch or other additives
  • g Food-grade sunflower oil
  • g 2:1 syrup, already prepared and cooled
Preparation
  1. Carefully mix the yeast and powdered sugar.
  2. Add the oil and mix until it is evenly distributed.
  3. Gradually add the cooled syrup and knead.
  4. Continue until you obtain a homogeneous, mouldable paste that does not run.
  5. Form thin patties wrapped in food-contact-safe material.
  6. Keep it only for the strictly necessary period and discard any altered product.
Application
Placement
On top of the frames and near the brood area, where the bees can reach the patty.
Initial serving
Start with a small portion, for example 100 to 250 g, and adjust according to consumption.
Monitoring
Check consumption within a few days and remove leftovers that show mould, fermentation, excessive hardening, or abnormal odour.
Frequency
Refill only while the nutritional need persists and consumption remains appropriate.
Warnings
  • It does not replace varied, good-quality natural pollen.
  • Protein feeding can stimulate brood rearing and increase the consumption of energy stores.
  • Do not use active baker's yeast.
  • Do not use damp, fermented, rancid, or expired ingredients.
  • The formula is a practical reference recipe and does not guarantee a complete nutritional profile for prolonged use.
